White Home
White Home
In the heart of Florence, a stone's throw from the "living room" of the city, the elegant Via Tornabuoni, the shopping street, there is an ancient tower house, from the 15th century.
A small elevator takes you to the top floor, and a sweet bell warns of the arrival of the lift. The door opens, and you enter a fantasy world, where all bad thoughts are left out.
White Home surprises you and welcomes you with an amazing feeling tranquility, peace and silence, marked by the light that pervades each room.
In fact, light is the real protagonist and the first source of well-being: it guides them compositional choices and is enhanced by an ad hoc "palette" made of warm tones reassuring ranging from raw white painted fir on the floors to ice-colored plasters, up to the furnishings delicately emphasized by shades ivory and turtledove, the gray of the lime paint on the walls, and the touches of lavender curtains.
The space creates a soft, fluid atmosphere, made up of fragrances, candles, and vintage objects recovered in the markets.
White is the dominant color of the house, to which the romantic view alternates on the roofs of Florence, which can be admired from any environment.
It is exciting to have breakfast on the lovely balcony looking at rooftops, or indulge in reading a good book immersed in an enchanted silence, interrupted only by the sound of the horses' hooves passing through the center.
At sunset, there is a special magic: a particular play of lights in the floor, makes it romantic and unique.
The architectural narrative is guided by the details and the revisited materials, which they bring back to memory with poetry, French suggestions.
This suspended atmosphere of peace is often sought after by writers looking for inspiration, artists but also directors and photographers: White Home, in fact, was the location set of many advertising campaigns, and today it is used exclusively for shooting, photoshoots, commercials and filming cinema, show cooking and private events.
All the furnishings in the house are also directed towards light: the furniture has been supplied by the Florentine company Riccardo Barthel, as well like the bathroom with shower, in black and white, perfect 1930s subway style. The sofas, beds and curtains are by Bellora. The Provencal style prevails in the kitchen: a large fireplace has been recovered creating a refractory brick work surface. The sink is in sandstone. The bathroom with tub is from Devon & Devon.
Note:
The lift is very small and is accessed via a flight of stairs.
There are fans in the rooms and no air conditioning.

My family of three stayed here for three nights and couldn’t be happier with our experience. The 11 year old was super impressed by the “private elevator to the penthouse.” While accurate, I wouldn’t consider that the draw of the apartment. The place boasts a certain charm with the wooden floors, high ceilings, decorative column, skylight, and balcony while still providing very modern amenities like A/C, a washing machine, dishwasher, claw foot tub, and separate bathroom with an elevated shower. There were also two televisions that I never even watched. We were very pleased with the property itself, but the location couldn’t be beat either. The property manager, Oscar, was very informative and greeted us upon arrival to show us around. He also left detailed check-out instructions via WhatsApp. The process for both was super easy. If, no…WHEN I return to Florence, I just might plan my stay around this property’s availability. Lol. The one thing I would have other potential guests consider is the fact that there is a full flight and a half of stairs you must ascend before getting to the elevator, which is VERY SMALL. Still, it worked for us and none of my family had a problem with it. We all agree that this was the right place for us for the time we were there.

Love the elevator right into the VRBO. 2 bathrooms but really only 1 American shower. Nice space. Beds were a little hard for our liking. Wish there were more seats to sit outside. Nice sitting area in the living room. Great location

The apartment was very tastefully decorated and clean. There was a grocery market close by and shopping was a short walk. We were a little disappointed that the clothes washer did not work and the nozzle hose in the tub bathroom did not work. These things were communicated with the host, but they were very slow to respond. Ultimately nothing was fixed during our stay. We were promised a 10% refund but we never received it.
